Thesis statement

Playing with a shadow that acts independently from the person, my thesis will portray the mind of a girl that is different from her appearance. Media has power to change people. The girl in this short movie represents today’s young generation who is strongly affected by visual media. The shadow’s chaotic presentation and the girl’s reaction will deliver how the media works within the minds of people.

Story Outline

It starts on a street where there is a big screen in a show window. The girl is watching the screen and the light projected from the screen is so strong it reveals her inner mind. Now it is an imaginative space of a girl’s mind. In this white empty space, her shadow overpowers the girl. The girl’s inside is revealed through her shadow’s action. The shadow acts differently from the girl. She is standing still with her eyes watching the screen. The shadow walks out of the position and stand in front of the girl. It gets on the rhythm along the background music. As the music gets intense, the shadow over-reacts to it. The white space gets filled up with silhouettes of the shadow and relevant imageries. The space is such chaos. And it’s way darker than the beginning. The girl reacts to this shadow’s self-indulgence and falls to the ground. At the same time, the music stops and the light turn off. The shadow disappears. After seconds, a different music starts and the chaotic world fades out to the street. The girl is back to reality. Shadow just reappears and looks around. The girl walks away and the shadow as well.
